Louis Joseph "Lou" and also known as, "Sonny," Milyiori Jr., 73, died suddenly Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in his home.
Born June 7, 1935, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Louis and Mary Bovienzo Milyiori. He married his wife, Nancy Brown Milyiori, who survives him, on July 14, 1979.
He retired from Union Camp in Dover, which is now Arizona Chemical. He served as the President of the Union Camp Retirees and enjoyed bowling with his colleagues on the Union Camp bowling team.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover and was active with the St. Joseph Seniors. He served in the National Guard for many years. He was also a member of the Dover and Tusky VFW, as well, as the New Philadelphia Moose and Eagles.
Lou was an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He also loved supporting the Dover Tornadoes. Above all, his family was very important to him.
In addition to his wife Nancy, other survivors include; two daughters, Diana (husband, Michael) Bragg of New Philadelphia, and Karen (Fianc, James Pusateri) Milyiori of Dover; step-son, Kendall (wife, Janet) Stull of Tuscarawas; two brothers, James (wife, Janis) Milyiori of Dover, and Carl (wife, Claire) Milyiori of New Philadelphia; step father-in-law, Donald Swinderman of Port Washington; a step sister-in-law, Linda (husband, Gerald) Fansler of Port Washington; his seven grandchildren, Donovan, Christopher, George, Jennifer, Lori, Mandie, and Beau; as well as 14 great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, February 2, 2009 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover with Father William Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dover. A reception will take place following the service of committal at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover on Sunday, February 1, 2009 from 1-5 pm. A Christian Wake service will take place at 4:30 pm.
