Louis Ronald "Louie" Catola

Louis "Louie" Ronald Catola III, 28, of Columbus passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on May 4, 1988 in Dover, he was the son of Louis and Elizabeth "Beth" (Scott) Catola of New Philadelphia. Louie was a 2007 graduate of New Philadelphia High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society, played football and ran track. He received his Bachelor of Business Administrator in Finance from Kent State University in 2011. After college Louie got a job at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). There he completed a rigorous program consisting of several years of classes and field training and a comprehensive exam. As a result, in 2016, Louie received his commission as a National Bank Examiner; the first in his class to achieve this certification. Louie's most recent role involved leading audit teams in Capital Markets reviews at mid-size banks and due to his leadership, was recently promoted to Training Team Leader where he would be responsible for the training and development of new examiners.

Louie had a passion for politics, business, fitness and investment strategies. He loved spending time with his friends and family and traveled frequently. Above all, Louie had a very strong faith in God and attended the Rock City Church in Columbus and also the NewPointe Community Church in Dover.

In addition to his parents, he will be sadly missed by his siblings; Ryan Catola of New Philadelphia, Jen (Nate) Quicksall of New Philadelphia, Kim (Travis) Vollmar of Perrysburg, Ohio, Renae Catola Joseph of Whittier, California; his nieces and nephews, Stella, Giana, Harrison, and Chase; his loving girlfriend, Nicole Stone of Columbus; along with many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Frank and Jean Scott, and paternal grandparents, Louis and Elizabeth Catola.

Calling hours will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 2-5pm. A celebration of Louie's life will take place on Monday, March 27, 2017 at NewPointe Community Church in Dover at 11:00am. Immediately following the service, all are invited to gather in fellowship at the church were a meal will be provided.
