Louis Tristano, 87, of Dover died Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.
Born September 16, 1927 in Dover he was a son of the late Benjamin and Rose Gaffoli Tristano. Louis was also preceded in death by his wife, Edith Jordan Tristano on August 25, 1995 along with five sisters and six brothers.
Louis retired from Reeves Steel in 1991 after 25 years of service and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed being with his friends, especially going to breakfast and sitting on the park bench on the square in Dover solving the world's problems. In his younger years, Louis loved to golf and was known as an excellent caddy. But most importantly, he was devoted to his family and was a hard worker, almost always working two jobs to provide a better life for them.
Louis will be sadly missed by his children, Steve Tristano and Debbie Tristano; sister, Shirley (Jim) Contini all of Dover; brother, Jim Tristano of New Philadelphia; many nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, Gus.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 29 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:15 am.
