Luverna Grace Harris White, 86, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Union Hospital following an extended illness.
Luverna was a nursing assistant at Edwin Shaw Hospital for 25 years.
Born April 2, 1919 in Dartmoore, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late William and Naomi Murphy Harris.
She enjoyed working in her flower garden, going to flea markets, sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Luverna was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow D. White, who died in 2001.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Rucker of New Philadelphia and Betty (John) Bosko of Johnstown, Ohio; sister, Dortha Brady of Garrettsville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; sister in law, Pearl (Don) Lipscomb of Belington, West Virginia.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Toland Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia with Pastor Richard Harvey officiating. Interment will be at the East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Friends can call at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 pm.
