M. Eileen Aeling, 80, of Dover, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, following a long illness.
Born Dec. 18, 1924, in Strasburg, Eileen was a daughter of the late Otto Baker and Myrtle Boyd Baker Lawrence. She graduated from Strasburg High School, and married Howard K. Aeling on Apr. 29, 1950 in St. Aloysius Church. Eileen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Dover. She enjoyed playing cards and her card club.
Survivors include a daughter and son, Cheryl Aeling Hammond and Mark Aeling, both of Dover; five grandchildren, Cassandra and Adam Bucher of Illinois, and Tory, Lianna and Mitchell Aeling of Dover; a great-grandson, Cody Bucher; sisters-in-law, Charlene (James) Herzig of Dover, and Kitty Aeling of California; brothers-in-law, David (Connie) Aeling of Columbus, Thomas (Joan) Aeling of California, and Richard (Treva) Aeling of Canton; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Eilen was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, on Sept. 4, 1996; and by a sister, Margaret Burnhouse.
A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Oct. 3, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Joseph Church, 613 N. Tuscarawas Ave., Dover, with Fr. William L. Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dover. Following the committal, there will be a meal in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center, 831 Boulevard, Dover. Family and friends are invited to call Sunday (today), Oct. 2, 5 �" 8 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. A Christian wake service will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
