Mabel M. Voorhes, 95, of Dover, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover.
Born August 28, 1907 in Guernsey County, she was daughter of the late George Alice Smith Casterline.
Mabel was affiliated with the Calvary Baptist Church in New Philadelphia and had previously taken pleasure in her participation with the “Super 60�(TM)s” club at the First Baptist Church in New Phila. She had been an active member of the Tuscarawas Senior Center and enjoyed its activities and trips.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Voorhes, who died May 25, 1975.
Survivors include: three daughters; Mildred (Gene) Martin of New Philadelphia, Alma (Dave) Mason of New Philadelphia and Betty (Jack) Hale of Dover, a sister; Ada Casterline of Cambridge, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Pastor Don Snow officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from 7-9pm.
