Mabel L. Skaggs, 61, of Strasburg, Ohio died Thursday, June 13, 2002 at Aultman Hospital following a brief illness.
She was an employee of Alsco Aluminum at Sugarcreek for twenty years.
Born February 6, 1941 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Lena Sexton Froman.
Mabel was a member of the First Moravian Church at Dover. She was a 1959 graduate of Strasburg High School. She enjoyed painting ceramics and loved her flower garden.
She is survived by her husband Wallace K. Skaggs with whom she would have celebrated 42 years of marriage on July 9. They were married in the former Wooster Highway Baptist Church in Parral.
She is also survived by three children; Michael K. Skaggs of Seven Hills, Ohio; Deborah (Daniel) Yeager and daughter Tiffany of Dover; Wesley K. Skaggs of Strasburg.
Four sisters Linda (William) Border of Massillon; Bonnie (Michael) Reiger of Canton; Patricia (Jay) Faulhaber of North Canton; Charlotte (Bryan) Miller of Stamford, Connecticut; an aunt, Melba Allison of Strasburg and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William Froman.
Funeral services for the family will be held Monday in the First Moravian Church at Dover with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 5-7 pm.
