Mabel V. Ritchey

Mabel V. Ritchey, 98, a 12-year resident of the Walnut Hills Retirement Community, died Sunday, September 18, 2005.

She was a homemaker and had always been active in the operation of her family�(TM)s farm.

Born March 1, 1907 at Sugarcreek, she was the daughter of the late Charley & Lida Kutscher Swihart.

Mabel was a longtime member of the St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg. She was also a member of the Winfield Grange and farm Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur C. Specht, who died in 1956. He second husband, Joseph Ritchey, passed away in 1989.

Survivors include: three children, Grace Bochsler of Dover, Wayne (Janet) Specht of Dover and Glenn (Peggy) Specht of Massillon; a step-son, Robert (Jill) Ritchey of Canal Fulton; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mabel was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde, Kenneth & Orin. Swihart.

A ceremony celebrating Mabel�(TM)s life will be conducted Wednesday, September 21, at 11:00 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover with Rev. Dan Schaefer officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m.
