Margaret Ann Harmon

March 5, 1939 — September 16, 2007

Margaret Ann Harmon, known to family and friends as “Margie” or “Squirt” died Sunday, September 16, 2007 in Union Hospital, following a sudden illness. She was 68 years old.

Born April 5, 1939, at the family home in Dundee, she was the daughter of Ruby M. Landis Nicewander of Dover, and the late Ben Nicewander.

Margie was great in the kitchen, and many of the family(TM)s fondest memories are centered on creations like her famous onion rings and dough balls. She enjoyed sharing her recipes and helping others learn her tricks of the trade. She also had a tender heart and always looked forward to seeing her grandchildren and in recent years was proud of the addition of great grandchildren to the family.

For years she had been an avid bowler in a variety of leagues in the area. She was a big fan of the Cleveland Indians, and she always kept her crossword puzzle books within reach.

On April 19, 1958, Margie married the love of her life, Wayne Harmon, with whom she celebrated 49 years of marriage this past spring.

Other surviving family members include: three sons, Ron Harmon of Dover, Rick (Tammy) Harmon of Dundee, Randy Harmon of Dundee; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Jessy, Cory, Ricky, Taylor, Tiffani, Stacy, Tamara, and Casey; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Heaven; a brother Jeff (Robin) Nicewander of Bellevue; and sisters, Betty (Ulysses) Graves of Navarre and Virginia (Ralph) Claypool of Killbuck.

In addition to her father, three brothers, Oscar, Richard, and Robert preceded her in death.

A funeral service celebrating Margie(TM)s life will be held Thursday, September 20, at 1:30 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Interment will follow in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m.

Those unable to attend or wishing to share a fond memory may sign the online register book for Margie by visiting the obituaries link on the funeral home(TM)s website.

The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover.
