Margaret Ann "Margy" Mckee

Margaret Ann “Margy” McKee, age 79, of Dover died on Saturday, September 12, 2020.

Born in Waterford, Ohio on June 3, 1941, Margy was a daughter of the late Chester A. and Louise M. Arnold Payne.

Margy graduated from Strasburg High School in 1959 and was also crowned “Queen of Hearts” the same year. She immediately enrolled in a business school in Columbus, Ohio. Upon returning to Dover, She was hired by Miller Studio in New Philadelphia as a secretary. In April of 1986, she was hired by the AAA in New Philadelphia as an Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper and retired in July of 2006. She loved flower gardening, and cooking for family and friends. Margy was always looking after her family and was the first one there if anyone needed help. She also had a passion for horses and dogs, and had a horse named Blaze for many years.

Margy is survived by her two daughters, Lori (Richard) Patterson, Sheri Smitley both of Newcomerstown; sisters, Mary L. Burkhart of Dover, Janet A. Payne of Columbus; grandsons, Justin (Rica) Patterson, Joshua (Samantha) Patterson; best friend, Barbara Birtcher and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margy was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry McKee; brother in law, Wayne J. Burkhart, who she considered her brother.
