Margaret E. “Brownie” Brown, 95, a longtime resident of New Philadelphia who had most recently resided at Seton Square, Dover, died Monday, October 20, 2003 in Aultman Hospital.
She worked for many years at the former Warm Drug Store that had been located on Public Square in New Philadelphia.
Born March 6, 1908 at Dover, she was daughter of the late Charles & Georgie Dixon.
Margaret was formerly a member of the Church of God at New Philadelphia. She was an avid card shark and will be sadly missed by her card-playing friends from Seton Square.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Brown, who died June 9, 1985.
Survivors include: a daughter; Janet Spaugh of Phoenix, AZ, sister; June Miller of Wooster, four grandchildren; Karen Pasquale of Glendale, AZ, Danny Boyer of Phoenix, AZ, Twila Leedle of Sho Low, AZ and Janelle Spaugh of Phoenix, 15 great grandchildren, six nieces and four nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by: a daughter; Thelma, and two brothers; Ronald and Robert.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 246 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia with Rev. Joseph Glassner officiating. Interment will be in the East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Friends may call in the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to services.
