Margaret L.M. Smallridge, 79, of Dover died Friday, December 14, 2007 in her home.
Peggy was born Jan. 22, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of Joseph Felix Madonna of Colmar, Pa. and Louise C. Naples Madonna of Salisbury, Md.
Peggy worked for the American Red Cross at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Florida and in civil service positions for the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Virginia.
On July 4, 1960, Peggy married Navy Lt. J.g. Benjamin D. Smallridge of Michigan and were married forty seven years. She is also survived by three children, Ann L. Smallridge Plumer of Cuyahoga Falls; James H. Smallridge III of Broadview Heights and Benjamin D. (Christine) Smallridge of Newburgh Heights, Ohio;
Peggy and Ben resided in Dover for 32 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in New Philadelphia and her passions in life were her family, her painting and finding cures for retinal degenerative diseases.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2pm at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury, Maryland where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Parsons Cemetery.
