Marguerite Kennedy, 87, of Dover died Friday, April 7, 2006 at Union Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born February 23, 1919 in Dundee she was a daughter of the late Fred and Marie Streit Zaugg.
Marguerite was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Thursday Quilting Group and she taught Sunday school for many years. Her passion in life was taking care of her family and especially her grandchildren for they were always a bright spot in her life. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Marguerite is survived by her husband Elmer “Buck” Kennedy with whom she would have celebrated 66 years of marriage on August 3, 2006.
She is also survived by three sons, William Kennedy of Tucson, Arizona, Richard (Kimberle) Kennedy of Tucson, Arizona and David (Vicki) Kennedy of Highland Heights, Ohio; three sisters, Mary Andreas of Sugarcreek, Clara Kreis of Palmyra, Pennsylvania and Hannah Nalbach of Massillon; brother, John (Pauline) Zaugg of Dover; seven grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Fred Zaugg.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory in Dover with Pastor Jim Lewis officiating. Interment will be at East Ave. Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Following the burial, a reception will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm.
