Marilyn Mckimmie Frye

Marilyn McKimmie Frye, age 83, of New Philadelphia, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 after a lengthy illness.

Born February 15, 1931, in Toronto, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Spencer and Margaret Jones McKimmie. Marilyn graduated early from Toronto High School and went on to attend cosmetology school. She married and opened her own beauty salon. Marilyn was a very hard worker, beginning her days at 5:30 in the morning and ending them at 5:30 in the evening - or later - for forty years. She moved to New Philadelphia upon her retirement, and was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, E. Lynne Swingle of New Philadelphia; a granddaughter, Lindsay M. Swingle; a brother Harold Lee (Gloria) McKimmie of New Philadelphia; a nephew, Spencer Lee McKimmie; a niece, Cindy (Ted) Knisely; and great nephews, Joe and Alex Knisely.

At Marilyn's request, there will be no public calling hours or funeral ceremony. The family suggests that contributions in Marilyn's name be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
