Marilynn R. Hertzig, 82, of Walnut Creek, Ohio and formerly of Winterhaven, Florida died Thursday, April 29, 2004 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home following an extended illness.
She was a former employee of the ASC office in New Philadelphia and Millersburg and a former employee of the former Reeves Bank in Sugarcreek.
Born October 10, 1921 in Wilmot, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elsie Bair Reed.
She had attended the United Methodist Church in Winterhaven and enjoyed playing shuffle board.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Spahr who died May 8, 1967.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Hertzig with whom she celebrated 35 years of marriage on April 19. She is also survived by three stepdaughters
Carol (Bill) Spahr Gerber of New Philadelphia Peggy (Larry) Spahr Hodkinson of Merrimack, New Hampshire and Rebecca (Steve) Hertzig Rose of Lexington, Ohio; eight grandchildren Brian, Erich, and Heather Rose Thad and Scott Gerber Debbie Kolat, and Christy Lilly and Jay Hodkinson; Two sisters Laurel Schenk of Sugarcreek and Carol Kraus of Wilmot and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Katherine Deibel.
Funeral services celebrating Marilynn�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, May 1, 2004 at 1pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor Dairel Kaiser officiating. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday (today) from 6-8 pm and Saturday from noon until 1 pm.
