Marion J. Lombardo, 80, of Dover died Thursday, March 1, 2001 at his residence following a brief illness.
He retired in 1991 from the US Postal Service at Dover after 44 years of service.
Born March 15, 1920 in Dover he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Contini Lombardo.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Seniors. He was an Army veteran of WW II and was a life member of the DAV and the Dover VFW.
Marion was preceded in death by his wife Leah Orr Lombardo who died on October 9, 1997.
He is survived by two daughters: Patricia ''Pat'' Morris of Dover
Joy and Dale Rodgers of Mentor
Son: John and Bev Patterson of Dover
Two sisters: Florence Schlemmer
Mary and Darl Huffman
Two brothers: John and Charles ''Chuck'' Lombardo all of Dover
9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
He was also preceded in death by an infant son: Marion J. Lombardo

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 5, 2001 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery at Dover where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover on Sunday from 2-4 pm with Christian Wake services starting at 3:30.
