Marjorie B. Morris

Marjorie B. Morris, 62, of Ray Ave., NW, New Philadelphia, Ohio died Thursday, December 7, 2000 in Union Hospital following an extended illness.

She was a volunteer and involved in the Foster Grandparent program through Headstart.

Born May 14, 1938 in Dover, she was the daughter of Violet B. Watkins Oler of Stonecreek and the late William Barker.

She was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ at Dover where she was in the church choir. Marjorie was a 1956 graduate of Stonecreek High School and attended the Canton Business College. She had many talents and was an excellent seamstress. She also loved dancing.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Bradley (Coreena) Rufener of Ragersville and her daughter, Kathy Rufener of Akron. She is also survived by her fiancée Bill Miller with whom she resided, one sister, Louise (Lloyd) Bleininger of Dover and three brothers, Gerald William Barker of Santee, California, Daniel George Barker of San Diego, California and James T. Barker of Ragersville and three grandchildren Nicole Bowman, Dale and Danielle Rufener.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Earl Oler.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 11, 2000 at 11:00 AM in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park.
