Marjorie J. Gachter

Marjorie J. Gachter, 91, of Strasburg died Thursday, January 22, 2015 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.

Born January 29, 1923 in Strasburg she was a daughter of the late Roy and Catharine Charton Renner. Marjorie was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis Gachter in 1992; brother, Leroy Renner and sister, Mabel Seward.

She was a 1941 graduate of Strasburg High School and retired from the Ford dealership in Navarre after 30 years of service as a Bookkeeper. Marjorie had a passion for music; she loved playing the piano and sang in the choir at St. Paul United Church of Christ when she and Francis lived in Navarre. She also taught Sunday school and was a member of the Navarre VFW Auxiliary. She and Francis enjoyed camping and fishing at Lake Lila, where they had a camper, and loved boating at Milton Lake.

Marjorie is survived by a brother, Dale (Maurine) Renner of Stow; sister, Donna (Bill) George of Strasburg; nephews, Phillip (Becky) Renner of Gibsonburg, Ohio, Eric (Rachel) Renner of Indianapolis, Todd (Valerie) Renner of Cuyahoga Falls; nieces, Pat Pappas of Strasburg, Sandra (Roger) Schwartz of New Philadelphia, Annette (Michael) Malorni of Stow, Kelly (Dave) Henry of Dover; 12 great nieces and nephews, four great-great nieces and nephews and two great-great-great nieces.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 11:00 am in the St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg with Dr. Monte Canfield officiating.
