Marjorie M. Hanni, 80, of Strasburg died Sunday, June 25, 2000, in Union Hospital following an extended illness.
She retired from the former Bubs Carry Out in Strasburg after 20 years of service. She had also worked at Marburgers Grill for 30 years.
Born Jan. 18, 1920, in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Olive Wires Tharp. She enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, William I. Metzger, who was killed in action during World War II.
She is survived by two sons, Larry and Kathleen Metzger of Strasburg and William O. and Glorya Metzger of Strasburg; three sisters, Faye and Harry Finch of New Philadelphia, Dora and James Torch of Dennison, Norma Scott of Browns Mills, N.J.; three brothers, Donald and Carol Tharp of Austintown, O., William and Faye Tharp of Tippecanoe and Robert and Margie Tharp of Uhrichsville; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Scott, Saundra Tharp and Betty Miller; and two brothers, Richard and Harold Tharp.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at 11 a.m. in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Strasburg with Rev. Steven Court officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg.
