New Philadelphia resident Mark Franklin Bair, 50, the beloved son of Charles and Linda Sewell Bair of Bolivar, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011.
A member of the Zoar Gun Club, he was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, 4-wheel enthusiast, gardener and fabulous cook, he was known for his gatherings at holidays and NASCAR race days. He enjoyed everything he did to the fullest.
He was a hard worker who loved his job, operating equipment and driving truck for D & R Excavating, and the people he worked with.
Blessed with a beautiful personality, he was a friend to everyone he met. A kinder, gentler soul you would never encounter. He encouraged and helped anyone in need, and a more loyal son, brother or friend you couldn't ask for. His sense of humor and ornery ways were legendary and will be a source of remembrances with laughter and smiles.
It breaks our hearts to say goodbye for now, but the loving and caring way Mark had about himself and the way he lived his life leaves each of us with his precious qualities and ways to aspire to in our own lives.
Because of the impact he had on those who knew him and loved him, and by the example of how he lived and loved without reservation he will live on in our hearts until we are reunited with him forever.
Along with his parents, Mark is survived by a large number of family members who will miss him terribly, including: six siblings, Mary K. (Gary) Faunda of Canfield, Tamra L. (Bill) Sabo of New Philadelphia, Todd C. (Peggy) Bair of Dover, Lori I. Hartline of New Philadelphia, Jeffrey R. Bair of New Phila., and Sallie A. Bair of Bolivar; four nephews, Nick, Joe and Jake Sabo and Adam Zupancic, along with great-nephew Drayden R. Moffett; four nieces, Ashley (Brandon) Moffett, Amanda Hartline, Tamra (Ryan) Gribble and a niece that was very close to Mark's heart, Saxon Eve Issa of Jerusalem, Israel. Mark is also survived by his companion of many years, Irene Aubihl of Stone Creek.
Alan Morrison, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in New Philadelphia, will officiate a service that celebrates Mark's life on Friday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Burial will be in the Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will provide military honors. Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
Those unable to attend or wishing to share a fond memory may sign the online register book by visiting the obituaries link on the funeral home's website.
The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to the Tuscarawas County Dog Pound, 1751 Tech Park Dr. SE, New Philadelphia.
