Marlene K. Everson of Atwood Lake Ohio and Naples Florida entered into God’s Eternal Kingdom on February 10, 2024, with her husband holding her hand at The Avow Hospice Care in Naples. Marlene was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Nellie M. Roberts of Valley Grove, West Virginia, and a sister of the late Barbara Welker of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Mary Cooper of Woodsfield, Ohio.
She is survived by her Soulmate, Friend, and Beloved Husband of 60 years, James W. Everson, Sr., and her family legacy of four children, their spouses, and eleven grandchildren: Dr. Dana K. Everson Brendza (Tom) with Joseph and John of Twinsburg, Ohio; James W. Everson, Jr (Bethany) with James III, Cameron, Jillian, and Christian of Powell, Ohio; Scott A. Everson (Katie) with Ella, McKenna, Aidan, and Ethan of Belmont, Ohio; Todd M. Everson (Julie) with Sydney of Rocky River, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Marlene was a graduate of the Triadelphia High School Class of 1956 in Triadelphia, West Virginia and a graduate of the Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing in Wheeling, West Virginia. She served as a Registered Nurse at OVMC, Medical Park, and Wheeling Clinic. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry, Ohio where she served a number of years as a member of the Choir, an Associate Member of the Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church in Naples Florida, and a current member of Two Ridges Presbyterian Church of Wintersville, Ohio, a Member of the Eastern Star #101 and the Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.
Marlene was a sharing and caring Wife, Mother, Nana, and Nurse who always “ate the burnt toast”. Her family and others always came first and she was happiest playing games with her grandchildren at family gatherings at the Lake or get-togethers in Florida and during holidays at home in Ohio. She loved traveling with her husband as he pursued his banking career over the years and loved her Chocolates and playing Hand and Foot Canasta with friends.
