Marlene K. Wallace, 62, of New Philadelphia went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 after a courageous nine-year battle with cancer.
She was born May 30, 1943 in Dover to the late Hershel and Marguerite Davidson. Marlene was a 1962 graduate of Dover High School and lived all her life in the Dover and New Philadelphia area.
On July 6, 1967, she married the love of her life, George. In addition to her husband, Marlene is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She worked for Reeves Bank and then retired after a thirty-year career with ODOT.
Marlene dedicated many years teaching Sunday school at the Dover Baptist Temple where she was a very active member. She loved planning outings for the Golden Gems senior group, which she founded. Marlene was a member of Brandywine Grange and Modern Homemakers and received the 2004 Homemaker of the year award.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers William and Robert Davidson.
Many friends whose lives she enriched with her love, generous spirit, and strong Christian example will sadly miss Marlene.
Friends may call at the Dover Baptist Temple on Friday, November 18, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Marlene�(TM)s life will be held at the church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Chris Rhodes officiating. Burial will be at Patterson Union Cemetery in Deersville, Ohio. Following the committal service, a meal will be served at the church fellowship hall. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory in Dover are handling the arrangements.
