Martha E. Olivet, 90, of Strasburg and formerly of Mineral City, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Union Hospital.
She had retried as a press operator from Dover Molded Products after 27 years of service.
Born November 1, 1920 in New Philadelphia, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Riggle Dessecker. Martha was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Olivet who died on March 19, 1981; daughter, Janice Garrett and sister Erma Adams.
She attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mineral City. In her spare time Martha enjoyed puzzles, reading and being with her grandchildren.
A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Martha will be sadly missed by her daughters, Carol Marks of Strasburg, Linda (Frederick) Beers of Mineral City, Marjorie (James) Homan of Orrville and Marlene (David) Roadpouch of Bolivar; brother, Leroy (Gloria) Dessecker of Strasburg, 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; two step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover with Fr. Ed Keck officiating. There will be no public calling hours. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover are handling arrangements.
