Martha J. Fishel Haeberle, 86, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, June 8, 2013 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover.
She retired from Reeves Steel Mill after 14 years of service.
Born March 31, 1927 in New Philadelphia, Ohio she was a daughter of the late James O. and Ethel Stermer Fishel. Martha was also preceded in death by her brothers, Adam, John and James Fishel and her sister, Mary Cummings.
She was a 1945 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and was a long time and very active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served on Altar Guild. She was also a member of the MacDowell Music Study Club and played the clarinet in the Tuscarawas County Philharmonic Orchestra for many years.
Martha is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Haeberle whom she married on October 14, 1962 and 15 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 11 at 11:00 am in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at New Philadelphia with Pastor Stephen L. Patrick officiating. Interment will be in the East Avenue Cemetery. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Monday from 6-8 pm with Church Council Prayer Service starting at 7:45 pm.
