Martha Jane ''Marty'' Blair

Martha Jane “Marty” Blair, 78, a lifelong resident of Dover, Ohio died Thursday, June 26, 2003 following a brief battle with cancer.

Many Dover High School students knew Martha Jane as “Mom” during her twenty plus years as Media Coordinator at Dover High. She was also well known for her work with her father, the late Harold Barr, owner of the former Barr�(TM)s Rexall Drug Company and as co-owner with her late husband, Willard “Bill” Blair , of the former Blair�(TM)s Quik Wash in Dover.

Born October 2, 1924 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Martha (Belknap) Barr. She graduated from Dover High School in 1942 and also earned a degree in Business in 1947 from Wittenberg University. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and had attended the Grace Lutheran Church in Dover.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Diana L. “Sky” Blair and her brother, David Barr.

Martha Jane is survived by five children; David (Barbra) Blair of Beaver, Pa., Paul (Mary Dawn) Blair of Little Rock, Arkansas, Barbara A. Blair-Karr (Gary) of Westerville, James W. Blair and Bradley (Val) Blair both of Dover; Eleven grandchildren, Drew, Joshua, Shawna, Marissa, Lindann, James Jr., Ian, Michael, Rachel, Arin, and Renee Blair and a great granddaughter, Kayla Amber Blair. She is also survived by two sisters in law, Sue Barr of New Philadelphia and Betty Border of Canton and an aunt, Elizabeth Barr of Dover.

Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Saturday from 5-8 pm followed by services Saturday at 8 pm with Rev. Brian Nunnally officiating. At her request, cremation will follow services with burial in the Dover Burial Park.
