Martha Louise Kramer, 93, of New Philadelphia passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Country Club Retirement Centre following an extended illness.
Born on July 1, 1920 in Fairmont, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Albert and Stella Shafferman Timms. On January 8, 1938, she married the love of her life, John Edward Kramer in Elkins, West Virginia. John preceded her in death on December 14, 1984. Together, John and Martha enjoyed traveling and fishing. They also shared the love of music and Martha would sing while John played the guitar.
Martha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Family was extremely important to her and she especially loved family gatherings during the holidays. She will be remembered by her unique personality and strong will. She was feisty up until the end. She was a former member of the New Philadelphia Church of Christ and later joined the Dover Church of Christ.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters; Janet (Jim) Hayes of Las Vegas, Deanna (Hal) Starinieri of Lihue, Hawaii; four grandchildren, Kathryn "Katy" Steve Nicholson of Mineral City, Kevin (Teresa) Starinieri of Carlsbad, CA, Leeann Starinieri (fianc, Dean Wills) of Lihue, Hawaii, Karen (Michael) Hamm of Las Vegas; five great-grandchildren, Derek (Molly) Nicholson of Chesapeake, Virginia, Lindsey Nicholson (fianc, Austin Moreland), Rebecca (Steve) Nelson of Chula Vista, CA, Nicholas Starinieri of Riverside, California, Lily Rose Hamm of Las Vegas; one great great granddaughter Hailey Rose Nelson of Chula Vista, CA; along with her special friend and caregiver, Cinda Miller of Dover.
She is also preceded in death by three brothers; Albert (Edith), Paul (Dorothy), and Russell Timms; a sister, Kathryn Timms; and her son in-law, Hal Wong-Ken.
A celebration of Martha's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 am. Immediately following the service, a meal will be served. Friends are invited to call at the Monarch Center from 10-11 am. A private graveside service will take place at the Evergreen Burial Park.
