Mary Belle Jones

Mary Belle Jones, 66, of New Philadelphia died Monday, July 7, 2003 in the Beacon Point Nursing Home at Uhrichsville.

Born May 21, 1937 at Flushing, Ohio, she was the daughter of Mable Randolph McConnell of Roswell and the late John F. McConnell.

She had been an active member of the First Assembly of God Church at New Philadelphia where she served as leader for Missionette, Prim�(TM)s and Y�(TM)s groups over the years. Mary Belle enjoyed being outdoors, swimming and camping and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Floyd L. Jones, Sr., whom she wed on her 18th birthday May 21, 1955.

Other survivors include: two daughters; Vivian Jones, Mary (Jim) Balder and a son; Floyd (Dennetta) Jones, Jr. all of New Philadelphia, a sister; Lillian Davis of Roswell, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Carrol (Loren) Griesen, brother-in-law Dick (Joanie) Seibert, an aunt; Eileen McConnell, several nieces and nephews, and her loving companion �" her Toy Poodle named Peppie.

In addition to her father, Mary Belle was preceded in death by: a sister; Luella B. McConnell, granddaughter; Mary Lynn Smart and a brother-in-law; Max Davis.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Assembly of God at New Philadelphia with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park in New Phila. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
