Mary Catherine (Jackson) Engstrom, of Dover , age 71, passed on from this Earthly life in the early morning hours of Thursday October 7, 2004. She was at her home, surrounded by the things and people she loved. Mary was born to the late Raymond L. Jackson and Marcella (Kaufmann) Jackson on January 14, 1933 in Dover, Ohio. On July 2, 1955 she married Robert L. Engstrom, who preceded her in death in 1980.
Mary truly brought joy to everyone who crossed her path. She had a genuine love of life and was known to always have a kind word and smile for everyone. This 1952 graduate of Dover High School was a devoted Ohio sports fan, enjoying the Cleveland Browns, the OSU Buckeyes and had a particular love of baseball and the Cleveland Indians. She was part of a close-knit neighborhood and cherished the times she spent with her friends. Mary was a member of a Bunco club and looked forward to the monthly games held in her and other friends�(TM) homes. She was actively involved in her family�(TM)s life as a spectator at many of her children�(TM)s and grandchildren�(TM)s activities. One of her greatest joys was having her family and friends gathered together around a campfire.
Her loving family includes her son Kenneth M. Engstrom, his wife Michele and their children Grant, Taylor & Collin of Sugarcreek; her son Timothy A. Engstrom, his wife Debra and their children Kimberly, Ashley, Matthew, Jamie and Bethany of Dover; and her brother George Jackson of the home. Mary is also survived by her brother Robert Jackson and his wife Kathleen of Dover, a brother Norman and his wife Joanne of Massillon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were an infant son James, her husband, her parents, and brothers Don, Bill and Pete.
Calling hours will be held at the Toland Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday October 10, 2004 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Toland Herzig Funeral Home on Monday October 11, 2004 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
