Mary Jane (Souers) Aeschliman, 87, of Venice, Florida and formerly of Dover died Monday, Nov 19, 2018 in the Brookdale on Venice Island following complications from Alzheimers Disease.
She was a Teller for the former National Bank in Dover. She later joined her husband in the operation of P&J Cable Burial Company and Aeschliman Excavating Company both in Dover.
Born Sept. 4, 1931 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Louis D. and Clara (Riley) Souers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul E. “Bud” Aeschliman on Sept. 9, 2016. Paul and Mary Jane were married on May 9, 1954 in the former South Moravian Church at Dover by the late Rev. Roy Grams. She was also preceded by her brother Robert (Helen) Souers, father and mother in law, Herman and Evelyn Aeschliman, sister in law, Ruth Rainsberger and brothers in law, George Rainsberger and David Miles.
Mary Jane was a very active member of the South Moravian Church where she was the pianist, a Sunday Schoolteacher, and financial secretary. She was a 1949 graduate of Dover High School and an accomplished musician and proudly played in the Dover Marching Tornadoes Band under the direction of the late L.H. Alexander.
She is survived by her brother in law, Raymond (Doris) Aeschliman of Ravenna and sister in law, Dorothy Miles of Uhrichsville along with her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She has been cremated and Rev. John Wallace will officiate her graveside service on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018 beginning at 1pm in the Dover Burial Park. Those who may wish to express a fond memory of Mary Jane can sign the online guestbook on the funeral home website at www.tolandherzig.com
