Mary Jane Margletta, age 81, died at home with family at her side on July 20, 2021 in Roswell, Georgia. Mary Jane was born on October 18, 1939, to the late Dominic and Jennie (Franzo) Altier.
She attended and graduated from St Joseph High School and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her greatest love was her family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leonard, and her children Susan (Jack) Harmon, Julie Langston, and Jeff (Erin) Margletta.
She loved being a grandmother to Drew Harmon, Jack and Josie Margletta, Gabby Thompson, and Claire, Ethan, and Emma Giesey. She had many close girlfriends throughout her life and was also a beloved aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt. All will miss her smile and laugh and wonderful sense of humor which she maintained until the end.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, and her three brothers Leonard (Ida) Altier, Fred (Joanne) Altier, and Paul Altier.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, from 5-7pm at Toland Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. A Catholic wake service will be held Friday at 6:45pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:00 am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at St Joseph Calvary Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center following the service of committal.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in Mary Jane’s name to St Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
