Mary Jane Mccurdy Bair

Mary Jane McCurdy Bair, 65, of Dover died Friday, June 6, 2014 in the Aultman Compassionate Care Center at Canton.

Born July 16, 1948 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Frank and Audrey Welsch McCurdy.

Mary Jane was a 1966 graduate of Dover High School and attended the Southern Seminary School for Girls in Virginia. She was an active member with St. Johns United Church of Christ in Dover where she played the piano, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, taught Vacation Bible School, served two terms on the Board of Christian Education and played the hand bells in the adult hand bell choir. She was also a former member of the Jr. and Sr. Fortnightly Music Clubs, Dover Historical Society, Dover Band Boosters, the Dover Alumni Band and was the founder of the Child Cooperation League (CCL). In her spare time Mary Jane enjoyed flower gardening and her Collies, Missy and Holly.

Mary Jane is survived by her son, Mark Allen (Heidi) Bair of Cuyahoga Falls; two step grandchildren, Noah and Jonah and her life-long friends, Beverly and Jeff Kirkbride.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 10 am in the Dover Burial Park with Rev. Thomas Dunkle officiating. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Mary Jane may do so by visiting the on line obituaries and flowers link on the funeral homes website.
