Mary Lamonica, age 82, a lifelong resident of Dover, died Friday, August 24, 2012, in her home.
Born December 5, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Rosario Cusma Lamonica. Mary was employed for many years in the Medical Records Department of Union Hospital from which she retired. In her later years, she especially enjoyed time spent with her friends from the Tuscarawas County Senior Center and the Union Hospital Retirees.
She is survived by a niece, Ann Goetz of Adrian, Michigan, and two nephews, William and Charles Strickler of Clinton, Utah.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by three sisters, Carmela and Esther Lamonica, and Antonette Strickler; and a brother, Joseph Lamonica.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 1, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. There will be a luncheon immediately after the service in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard. Following cremation, there will be a memorial Mass in St. Joseph Church at Dover, with burial of Mary's cremated remains in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery.
