Mary Lou Fish

Mary Lou Fish, 70, of New Philadelphia and formerly Dover, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 in the Schoenbrunn Health Care Center.

Born August 11, 1937 at Dover, she was the daughter of the late William & Lucille Capozella Mowrer.

Mary Lou was and active member of the Salvation Army where she held the title of Senior Soldier. She was also a former member of the St. Joseph Church in Dover, and had been an officer with the Dover Eagles auxiliary.

A fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians, she also enjoyed following the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Mary Lou always did her best to stay busy with a variety of activities that included yarn crafts, traveling, word find puzzles and listening to country music.

Her husband, Gerald Fish, preceded her in death on July 16, 1993.

Surviving family members include: five children, Gerald W. Fish of Dover, Lucille (Larry) Domer of Dundee, Deanna (Earl) Weigand of Dover, Larry Fish of Port Washington, and Darrel (Stephanie) Fish of New Philadelphia; three brothers, William (Mary) Mowrer and Robert (Sharon) Mowrer both of Michigan, and James (Lucille) Mowrer of New Philadelphia; two sisters, Nancy Festi of Florida, and Anita (Michael) Gribble-Cummings of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Lesley, Logan, Tianna, Angelicka, Sierra, Autumn and Savannah; a great grandchild, Brynn; and four step great grandchildren, Danielle, Dylan, Diedra and Darren along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Justin & Hannah.

A funeral ceremony that celebrates Mary Lou's life will be held Saturday, May 3, at 10:30am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory. Major David Cedarvall will officiate. After the ceremony, a meal will be held for family and friends at the Salvation Army Citadel, on Public Square in Dover.

Through Toland-Herzig's care, cremation will follow the service. Burial will take place in Dover Burial Park at a later date.

Friends may call in the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 pm.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 301 N. Wooster Ave., Dover, or to the Alzheimer's Association, 4815 Munson St. NW, Canton, 44718.
