Mary Lou Lahmers, 93, a lifelong resident of Dover died Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 in the New Dawn Health Care Center following an extended period of declining health.
She retired from the Tuscarawas County Department of Human Services and had previously been a hairdresser and worked with her family in the operation of the former Lahmers TV in New Philadelphia.
She was born Jan. 12, 1928 in Dover, the daughter of the late Roy and Marie (Mowls) Holingbaugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 58 years, Eldon J.L. Lahmers who died June 1, 2006. In addition, she was preceded by brothers, Harold, Robert, and Edward Holingbaugh.
Mary Lou was an active member of the First Moravian Church at Dover where she was a former Deacon and volunteered many days in the church kitchen. She also enjoyed playing bridge.
She will be sadly missed by her family that include her two sons, Gary H. (Judy) Lahmers of Middleton, Wisconsin and Rhett E. Lahmers of Dover; five grandchildren, Chelsea, Eve, Anne, Jacob and Sophia and great grandchildren, Lily, Violet, Elliot and Cecilia.
