Mary Lou Rinehart, 88, of Dover died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in the Country Club Retirement Center.

Born October 2, 1927 in Sugarcreek she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mable Hershberger Mishler. Mary Lou was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Rinehart on December 25, 2011.

She was born and raised in Sugarcreek and always fondly remembered her days of growing up on the family farm. In high school she played the cornet in the Garaway High School Band. After graduating from high school, she married Homer Rinehart in Greenup, Kentucky on January 8, 1947. In her younger days she enjoyed bowling, and throughout her life was an avid supporter of her grandchildren's sporting events and school activities. She made many ceramic items for the family and prided herself in the ceramic Christmas Villlage she set out under the tree each Christmas.

Mary Lou is survived by her sons, Terry (Cindy) Rinehart and Kenny (Jane) Rinehart; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Damon) Rinehart-Stevenson, Andy (Erin Whitaker) Rinehart, Aaron Rinehart, Sarah (Zack) Rinehart-Glass, Eric (Samer Roueiheb) Rinehart, Matt (McKenzie Feller) Rinehart; great grandchildren, Tyler and Sydney Stevenson, Jack and Amrynn Rinehart, Christian and Michael Rinehart and many cousins and their families.

In keeping with Mary Lou's wishes, private graveside services will be held at the Dover Burial Park. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
