Mary M. Wade Brewer, 94, of Dover passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Hennis Care Centre in Dover.
Born on January 3, 1920 in Midvale, she was the daughter of the late James F. and Eva Carpenter Young. She married her husband, Paul D. Brewer, who preceded her in death on March 2, 1998. She is also preceded in death by her infant daughter; Mary Margaret Wade; two brothers, Gerald "Buzzy" Young, James Young; two sisters, Vella Vaughn, and Betty Schlarb; and two nieces; Jeanie Pickering, and Cindy Schlarb.
Mary retired from Dover Molded Products. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Dover and was also a member of the Eastern Star Masonic Cleveland Lodge. Mary looked forward to her annual winter trips to Myrtle Beach, where she loved walking on the beach. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, ballroom dancing, and her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her five children; Patricia (James) Troyer of Sugarcreek, Betty (Dave) Angel of Dover, Rebecca (Gary) Pittis of Dennison, Mary (Zachary) Space of Dover, David (Shari) Wade of Bolivar; two step-children, Terry (Wanda) Brewer of Canton, Kevin (Glenda) Brewer of Mannington, WV; sister in-law, Lena Young of Brightwood; along with eight grandchildren, James Troyer Jr., Timothy (Cathy) Troyer, Talli Troyer, April (David) Angel-Yoder, Adam (Mindy) Pittis, Cole Pittis, Nick Space, Gina Space; 5 step-grandchildren, Kasey (Terry) Willison, Kody Gasser, Terry Brewer Jr., Logan Brewer, Colton Brewer; 10 great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00 am with Dr. Cecil Carpenter and Pastor Shelly Nordine officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call on Monday from 10-11:00 am.
