Mary M. Mullins, 76, of New Philadelphia passed away suddenly on Friday, March 22, 2013.
Born in Dundee on September 10, 1936, Mary was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Thelma (Bunting) Porter. She graduated with the class of 1955 from Sugarcreek Shanesville High School. She married the love of her life, Wendell M. Mullins Sr., on December 31, 1957. Wendell preceded her in death on January 8, 1995. She is also preceded in death by her siblings; June Knight, Curtis Knight, Norma Drum, Betty Rosenbaum, Mable Warnes, and Raymond "Ward" Porter Sr.
Mary retired from Kleen Test in Beach City following many years of service. She attended Grace Brethren Church in Norton, Ohio. She was an avid Cleveland Indian's fan. She loved Elvis, Shirley Temple and Matlock. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, and loved playing cards with her grandchildren. She taught her three granddaughters how to crochet, which was another one of her favorite pastimes. She had a love for cats and especially enjoyed her kitty companion "Taco." She always looked forward to visiting her relatives in Florida.
She will be sadly missed by her children; Wendi (Harry) Hague of New Philadelphia, Wendell (Lisa) Mullins II of Somerdale, Matthew Mullins of Akron; grandchildren, Jamie and Emily Hague of New Philadelphia, and Jessica and Justine Mullins of Somerdale; brothers, Robert (Grace) Porter of New Philadelphia, Charles "Sonny" (Beverly) Porter of Wooster, Ronnie (Pat) Porter of Orlando, FL; sister, Irene Rose of Wooster; special niece, Carol (Butch) Hofstettler, along with a dear friend; Marsha and many other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mary's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor John Dunn officiating. Immediately following the service, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 6-8 pm.
