Maurice R. "Bud" Maurer, 81, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Country Club Retirement Center.
He retired in 1986 from Warner and Swasey in New Philadelphia after 33 years of service.
Born June 3, 1926 in Sugarcreek he was a son of the late Arthur and Olga Millhorn Maurer. His wife Helen E. Harshey Maurer who died on January 16, 2007 and two brothers and two sisters also preceded Bud in death.
Bud attended the Nazarene Church in New Philadelphia and was a life member of the Dover VFW, Army / Navy Club in Dover and the New Philadelphia Eagles. He was also a member of the New Philadelphia VFW and was a Navy veteran of WW II.
Bud is survived by a son, Ron (Kathy) Maurer of New Philadelphia; daughter, Darlene (Keith) Dessecker of Dover; three grandchildren, Chris Schaar, Tim Schaar and Shawn Boughner; four great grandchildren, Derek Schaar, Taylor Cockran, Cameron Russell and Parker Boughner.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Harry Milligan officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
