Maxine E. Zimmerman

Maxine E. Zimmerman, age 75, of Dover, and a long-time resident of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Jul. 25, 2012, in Union Hospital.

Born Mar. 13, 1937 at Dover, she was a daughter of the late Nickolas D. and Gladys Tate George. Maxine graduated from Dover High School in 1955, and was employed by the U.S. Ceramic Tile Co. at East Sparta. She later worked for The Times-Reporter at Dover, from which she retired. Maxine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at New Philadelphia, and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her three daughters, Vicki (husband, Tom) Locker and Lisa (husband, Randy) Stephens, both of New Philadelphia, and Cindy (husband, Jim) DeFeo of Cleveland; her son, Steve (companion, Moses Ijaz) of Columbus; her grandchildren, Angela Marsh, Paul DeMonte, Chase and Tanner Kendall, Kevin (wife, Jennifer), David (wife, Alyssa) and Valerie Locker, Wendy, Mary and Louis DeFeo, Michael (wife, Lisa) and Christopher (companion, Tiffany Martini) Stephens; her great-grandchildren, Vinny and Nico Marsh, and Michael Stephens; her sister, Judy (Lorence) Riggle of Dover; her brother, Jim (Esther) George, also of Dover; her sister-in-law, Yvonne George of New Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Abel; and by her three brothers, Frank, Thomas and Jack George.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 803 N.
