Maxine F. Holingbaugh, 87, of Dover, passed away on July 13, 2024, at the Ohio Hospice Truman House.
Born on June 21, 1937, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Marie (Rhoda) Holingbaugh. Maxine's life was marked by compassion, dedication, and a commitment to serving others.
After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1955, Maxine pursued her passion for nursing by attending the Massillon City Hospital School of Nursing. Her career as a registered nurse spanned 31 years at Union Hospital where she touched countless lives with her healing touch and kindness. Maxine's colleagues and patients remember her as a caring and skilled professional who always put others' well-being above all else
In 1999, Maxine retired from her nursing career, leaving a legacy of excellence and empathy. However, retirement did not slow down her spirit of service. She found fulfillment and purpose as an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover. Maxine dedicated her time and energy to various roles within the church community, including leading the Missions Committee, the Mary Hannah Circle, and the Book Discussion Group.
She leaves behind her daughter, Lisa (Marc) Kellicker of Dover; her identical twin sister, Eileen (Ignace) Holben of Massillon; and her grandchildren, Nolan and Ethan Kellicker of Dover.
