Maxine M. Quarles of Schoenbrunn Health Care went home to the Lord on July 4th, 2006 after a lengthy illness.
Maxine is the daughter of the late Moody and Ruby (Vaughan) Hensley. Maxine married Clay Quarles in 1956. They owned and operated Clay�(TM)s Produce on E. High Ave. in New Phila for more than 15 yrs. They also operated produce stands in the Twin City and Tappan Lake area.
Maxine was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Foster Grandparents Program, Red Hat Society and the Uhrichsville Moose. She also loved to grow flowers and spend time with family and friends.
Maxine is preceded in death by her husband Clay, her son Dan “Boone”, an infant son Clay Jr. and son-in-law Paul Tikva.
She is survived by her brother Jack and Donna Hensley and her sister Carol Hensley. Also surviving are her sons Joe, Tom and Dave Quarles, her stepson Tim Hensley and her daughter Frankie Quarles Tikva and 9 grandchildren, Amy Smith, Tabitha Zedi, Brandon, Dustin, David Jr., Heather and Danny Quarles and Lacey and Timmy Hensley. In addition there are 3 great grandchildren, Trent Leeper, and Chanler and Tionna Zedi. Maxine was looking forward to the birth of her 4th great grandchild in December. She also leaves behind many cherished Aunts, Nieces, Nephews and Friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
A service celebrating Maxine�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, July 8, at 1 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 246 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia, with Rev. Larry W. Malterer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park, New Philadelphia. Following the committal, the family will host a meal in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
