Melba J. Allison

Melba J. Allison, 89, of Strasburg died Thursday, September 22, 2011 in the Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar.

She had retired from the Timken Co. in Canton.

Born October 21, 1921 in Strasburg she was a daughter of the late William and Amelia Morhart Froman. Melba was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Allison, Sr. on August 21, 1996; three brothers, Harold, John and Richard Froman and her sister, Dorothy Froman.

Melba was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed camping and boating and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A loving and wonderful mother and grandmother, Melba will be missed by her sons, Roy (Lisa) Allison, Jr. of Canton and Dan (Penny) Allison of Dover; grandchildren, Erin, Kade, Rachel and Kirk.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Rob Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends can call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 pm.
