Melda M. McAnulty, 93, of Dover, passed away on January 28, 2025, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover, Ohio.
Born on March 13, 1931, in Dover, Melda lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of many throughout her journey. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Pleasant (Deibel) Welsch.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Adrian Menges, and her second husband, Dwight McAnulty. She was also preceded in death by her son; Jerry Menges; and brother, Carl "Bud" Welsch.
She graduated from Dover High School in 1949. Melda dedicated many years of her life to serving as a bus driver for Canton City Schools. Her commitment to nurturing and transporting the community's youth was a testament to her caring nature.
As a devoted member of the First Christian Church in Dover, Melda found solace and friendship within her faith community, embodying the values of compassion and service.
Though she became a mother at the age of only 19, she was more than up to the task. She was determined her children lead a healthy and educated life. Through great adversity, she protected her children from the plague of addiction that affected their father. Her oldest son Terry became the first college graduate in the family and now her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and generations to come will all have better lives because of her courage and resilience. To those loved ones, she is a quiet hero.
Melda will be sadly missed by her son; Terry (Judy) Menges; grandchildren, Sara Menges, Tammy (Rod) Kopp, and Jamie (Terri) Menges, along with great-grandchildren, Kayla (Scott) Shook, Evan Menges, Caitlyn Menges, Ethan Kopp, and Madison Kopp (Noah Love); five other great-grandchildren; along with her sister-in-law, Nancy Welsch.
