Meredith Goss

Meredith "Marty" Goss, 89 of New Philadelphia died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at his home following an extended illness.

He had retired from Shippers Dispatch after many years of service.

Born March 7, 1920 in Bicknell, Indiana he was a son of the late Homer and Myrtle Goss. Marty was also preceded in death by his son, John Goss and sister, Lestill Hamilton.

A wonderful and loving husband and father, Marty will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 30 years, Margaret Langley Wanless Goss whom he married on May 17, 1980. He is also survived by his children, Cherrill (Terry) Wertz of Creston, Ohio, Gary (Susan) Goss of Akron, Beverly Goss of Akron, Linda (Ron) Davis of Rockaway, NJ, David (Susan) Goss of Akron, Donna (Bill) Carr of Akron, Cindy Scriven of Lincoln, Illinois and Deborah (Lynn) Morrison of Canton; sisters, Betty (Harold) Barker of Wilmington, Delaware, Doris (Steve) Tillinger of Akron and Shirley (Dave) Hillquist of Virginia; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Per Marty's wishes, cremation will be handled through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover. There will be no services or calling hours.
