Michael Harmon

Michael Harmon, 71, of Belle Center, Ohio passed away suddenly at Ohio Health Hardin Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 26, 2017.

Michael was born in Liege, Belgium on November 13, 1945. He was the son of Lester and Josephine (Gruselin) Harmon. His father precedes him in death.

He graduated from Dover High School with the class of 1964. Shortly following graduation, he joined the United States Army where he honorably served our country during Vietnam.

He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Cavs, Indians, Browns, and Buckeyes. He enjoyed golfing and playing Jass with his friends. . Above all, he loved watching his grandchildren play; baseball, basketball, softball, volleyball, and gymnastics. He would often travel many miles to watch a game.

In addition to his mother, Josephine, he will be sadly missed by his two children; David (Allyson) Harmon of Belle Center, Rachel (Michael) Patt of Canton; beloved grandchildren, Nathan, Madelyn, and Julia all of Belle Center; two brothers, Jerry (Rebecca) Harmon of Dover, Tommy (Kim) Harmon of Tabor Ridge Atwood Lake; and his two sisters, Arlette Harmon of Dover, and Linda Byrne of Texas.

A celebration of Michael’s life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 3pm with Pastor John States officiating. Following the service the Dover VFW will conduct military honors at the funeral home. Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday from 2-3pm.
