Michael J. "Mike" Sokolovits

Michael J. “Mike” Sokolovits, age 52, of Akron, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018, in Akron City Hospital after a brief illness.

Born July 12, 1966, in Akron, he was a son of the late George J. Sokolovits Sr. and Yvonne Churchill Sokolovits Johnson. Mike graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School, and was employed by Goodwill Industries of Akron.

Survivors include his siblings, Linda M. (John) Faulkner of East Canton, George J. (Julie) Sokolovits Jr. of Akron, and Michelle R. Harper of Stow; two nieces; and seven nephews.

Beside his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his step-father, David Johnson.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 27, at 1 p.m., in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg; Pastor Mark O’Donnell of Community Baptist Temple, Akron, will officiate.

The family suggests that contributions in Mike’s memory be made to Goodwill, 570 East Waterloo Rd., Akron, Ohio 44319.
