Mildred A. Maholm Shannon

Mildred A. Maholm Shannon, 93, of Cincinnati and formerly of Burlingame, California died Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in Twin Lakes Assisted Living at Montgomery.

She had retired as a switchboard operator from Pan Am Airways.

Born February 24, 1917 in Dover, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Edna Burtscher Maholm. Mildred was also preceded in death by her husband, H. Gordon Shannon who died on January 13, 1992; sisters, Ruth Crawford and Dorothy Bazzoli and a brother, Kenny Maholm.

She graduated from St. Joseph High School. Mildred was an exceptional homemaker who also enjoyed photography, gardening and traveling, especially with her husband and the girls from the office.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11:00 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Interment will be at the St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Monday from 10 to 10:45 am.
