Mildred H. Singleton, 89, of 205 W. Slingluff Ave., Dover, Ohio died Thursday, December 15, 2005 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover following an extended illness.
Born February 23, 1916 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lena Christner Ball.
Mildred was a member of the St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover, AARP, Dover Craft Club, and the Blue Star Mothers. She enjoyed bicycling and was a member of the Three Wheelers Bicycle Group. She was a 1934 Graduate of New Philadelphia High School. She enjoyed crafts and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Singleton with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage on September 18; She is also survived by two sons, Norman (Karen) Singleton of New Philadelphia and Robert “Fred” (Katherine) Singleton of Dover; two daughters, Susan (Ed) Rufener of Strasburg and Beth (Ron) Kilchenman of Wadsworth; four grandchildren Edward (Vicki) Rufener, Robert (Amy) Rufener, Beth (Chokri) Jouini, and Quentin Singleton along with eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Katie Albaugh of Dover and Virginia Swinderman of New Philadelphia.
Mildred was preceded in death by a grandson, Ronald A. Rufener; three sisters, Margaret Morris, Ruth Schwartz, and Helen Varalli and a brother, Russell Ball.
A funeral service celebrating Mildred�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005 at 10am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9-10 am.
