Mildred I. Lahmers, 82, of the Hennis Care Centre and formerly of Johnson Ave., Dover, Ohio died Sunday, May 26, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Lahmers who died May 23, 1992.
Born May 20, 1920 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Milan (Mike) and Edith Pearl Wallick Gordon.
Mildred retired from Conley�(TM)s after 18 years of service. She and her husband, Earl formerly owned and operated Columbia Skateland. They were also former owners and operators of Whispering Pines Hereford Farm near Dover. She was a member of the St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover and was a 1938 graduate of Dover High School.
Mildred was known by family and friends for her baking-especially pies and cookies. She also enjoyed playing the piano and singing. One of her joys was crocheting afghans for each of her children and grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by two daughters and two sons; Ella Marshall of Dover; Judy (Mrs. Gary) Franks of Bolivar; Ric E. (Laura) Lahmers of Newark; and Jeffery Lahmers of Arlington, Virginia; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. A grandson, Donald B. Marshall and a brother, Tom White preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Calling Hours are Wednesday from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.
