Mildred L. Zion

Mildred L. Zion, 80, of New Philadelphia, Ohio died Saturday, September 29, 2001 in her home following a sudden illness.

She was a longtime employee of the J.C. Penney Company in Dover.

Born August 7, 1921 in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Florence Lechner.

Mildred was a member of the Women of the Moose at Dover and a Life Member of B & A Primitive Weapons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Zion who died September 30, 1977.

She is survived by three sons Robert (Jean) Zion of Salem, Ohio; Steve (Joan) Zion and Gary (Dianne)Zion both of New Philadelphia.

Four grandchildren Holly J. Zion, Christopher Zion, Breanna Zion and Haylee Zion.

One Sister Ruth Postlewaite of Canton and one brother, Donald Lechner of Canton.

She was preceded in death by one son, Carl Zion; one sister, Thelma Sands; and three brothers, Carl, Roy, and William Lechner.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 pm.
